Patent attorneys may receive formal certifications to practice in Taiwan. The Intellectual Property Office of the Ministry of Economic Affairs presented the formal certification to the first group of licensed patent attorneys in Taiwan on October 24, 2008, introducing a new era in the patent representation system in Taiwan.
