Results of Work by the IFPI in December 1999 |
The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry, Members' Foundation in Taiwan (IFPI) recently released statistics on its anti-piracy efforts regarding audio works for December 1999. Of the nine parallel import cases referred to it by Customs, the IFPI determined that none of the cases involved suspected copyright infringement. In addition, the IFPI assisted police agencies with 66 investigations of suspected infringement of audio works. These investigations resulted in the seizure of 24,472 pirated cassettes, 15,725 pirated compact disks, 84 MP3, 16,500 DVDs, and semi-finished goods and equipment. |
