On 23 February 2000, the Intellectual Property Office revised the Similar Goods and Similar Services Examination Standards (the Standards). Article 4 of the Standards was revised to read, "The determination of similar services shall be made on the basis of all the following factors taken as a whole, and not on the basis of only one of the factors:" In addition, Article 4-2 had provided that "The greater the contents of the services provided are identical or similar, the more likely that a service will be determined to be a similar service. For example, the services of restaurants and hotels, motion picture theaters and enterprises which display recorded programs (MTV)." The revision deleted the term (MTV).
